Thai actor Jiratpisit “Boom” Jaravijit, 27, has been taken into police custody for “money laundering” after reports emerged that he lured a foreign investor into investing 797 million baht ($23.9 million) in BTC.

Jiratpisit “Boom” Jaravijit is known for his awesome movie personality in My Dream the Series, but will now be involved in some off-theatre activity that could dent or even ruin his promising career.

According to a local news source, the criminal court issued a warrant for Jaravijit’s arrest on July 26 before the actor was arrested on Thursday morning while he was at the Major Cineplex Ratchayothin complex to shoot a new movie.

The foreign investor who was not named in the report told the police that he transferred the said sum in BTC to the suspect’s address after he was made to believe “that they would buy shares in companies that invested in the digital Dragon Coin currency.”

So far, the foreign investor claims that he has never received any dividends from the claimed companies or any invitation to their shareholders’ meetings. Also, he argued that the “companies” have not invested in any Dragon Coin and always sidestepped questions when asked what was happening.”

Jiratpisit “Boom” Jaravijit denied the allegation

Actor Jiratpisit “Boom” Jaravijit, denied the charges when queried by the police but will now have to face further interrogations. He is only one of the seven suspects for the alleged $23.9 million BTC crime and may not be guilty.
