Despite the recent market downturn that has seen Bitcoin lose a slightly significant amount of price value in the space of a few days, United States citizens are still interested in the emerging asset class.

According to a survey conducted by Crypto Radar, a study involving 5,000 American respondents within the age range of 18 to 65, showed that more people are willing to acquire bitcoin regardless of the current crypto market performance.

Respondents to the survey were asked to indicate their stance on Bitcoin as an investment.

As shown in the graph above, a total of 64.8 percent stated that they neither own nor plan to invest in Bitcoin. The survey reportedly applied a demographic filter to the response received for this reply, with a target on the response received from individuals who are over 55 years.

Findings on the subject revealed that 68.8% of respondents between ages 55 and 64 years-old made this selection, while 74.3 percent who are 65years and above did the same.

However, the volatile nature of the crypto industry was discovered as the main reason why older people are scared of venturing into cryptocurrencies, although younger respondents showed massive interest in these assets, especially Bitcoin.

Additionally, the survey gathered that out of the total respondents, 6.2% agreed they own Bitcoin, while 7.3% indicated interest in investing in Bitcoin in the long run, with majority respondents in this category aged between 25 and 34 years old.

Commenting on the responses received, Terry White, head editor at Crypto Radar said:

“Despite its enormous volatility, Bitcoin is a very attractive investment for those investors, especially younger investors, who are willing to ride the volatility to potential future gains.”

Response gotten for people who have never heard of Bitcoin showed that 21.8% of respondents do not know about cryptocurrencies, with demographic filter revealing an increased percentage in women than men.

In a similar development, Coinfomania reported a recent KPMG survey revealing that Americans of all age groups are increasingly showing interest in buying items with cryptocurrency.
