TRON Breaks New Record – 1 Million Users In Less Than 6 Months

The TRON blockchain protocol led by Justin Sun has recorded a new milestone on Dec 23, after recording 1 million active users within six months after the project launched it’s mainnet.

The new landmark was reported on Twitter by Misha Lederman, co-founder of IAmDecentralized.org, a project built on the TRON blockchain.

Statistics available on the TRX scanner show that the number of users surpassed 1 million on Dec 23 and had added 42,819 between then and the time of writing this report.

Lederman’s update, however, was one to jibe major competitors Ethereum, rather than celebrate the landmark moment.

The developer reckoned that “TRON reached 1 million accounts on Dec 23, in 184 days or 6 months since the Mainnet Launch”. On the other hand, “Ethereum reached 1 million accounts on Jan 22, in 542 days or 18 months since the ETH Mainnet Launch.”

It continues a run of run recent of social media bursts between the opposing networks who are competing for DApp supremacy. Both Ethereum and TRON wants to be the best blockchain for developers to build their decentralized applications.

What Does The Crypto Community think About The TRON—ETH Rivalry?

Enthusiasts who stopped by Lederman’s update reminded the developer that the crypto space has more spectators now than in 2013-2014 when Ethereum was launched. Hence they attribute TRX’s massive growth to the increase in the number of people plying their trade in the crypto Industry.

Others suggested that Ethereum paved the way from the growth of the crypto ecosystem and deserved some credit for TRX’s performance. Comparisons were also drawn between the current price of TRX and ETH.

Still, others lauded the competition as a healthy one and potential one that can spur the growth of the industry.
