Chris Larsen, the co-founder and executive chairman of Ripple has become the latest COVID-19 Survivor, as he announced Thursday that he has fully recovered from the infectious Coronavirus.

With over a million people currently infected with the virus and more than 53,292 dead, Larsen said he is indeed grateful for his recovery.  Sharing his experience on Twitter, the Ripple executive expressed his gratitude to everyone on the frontlines who took it upon themselves to keep him and other COVID-19 victims safe.

He further encouraged those who have recovered from the virus to join efforts in fighting the disease by considering donating their blood as this could help with antibody transplants.

Red Cross Calls on Blood Donors

In line with  Chris Larsen’s encouragement about donating blood to help combat the novel virus, the American Red Cross also explained how essential this move could be to the community health, saying the need for blood products is constant.

The non-profit noted that there is no known end date in this fight against the pandemic and the Red aCross needs the help of blood and platelet donors and blood drive hosts to maintain a sufficient blood supply for weeks to come.

Since the start of the outbreak, the virus has affected several participants in the cryptocurrency industry. Back in March, we reported the case of two crypto enthusiasts who were affected by the virus after attending the EthCC event in Paris.

Crypto Against Coronavirus

Meanwhile, as the world continues to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, many reputable billionaires and large companies have made several donations to the cause.  The cryptocurrency industry was not left out in this commendable effort.

In March, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance launched a $5 million fundraising campaign to help combat the virus.  The exchange donated $1 million while promising to donate an additional $2 million via the  #CryptoAgainstCOVID Twitter campaign.
